Diesel adulteration unit unearthed in Udaipur

UDAIPUR: The police have busted an adulterated diesel making factory near Fatehnagar here and seized thousands of litres of the adulterated fuel and powdered chemicals on Wednesday. Surprisingly, the cops also found secret formulae book of HPCL from the factory premises along with seals, diaries and bill books of the company, indicating the possibility of involvement of HPCL staff in the fraud.
"The fake diesel factory was being run under the garb of a gaushala at Sanwad village some 1.5 km from Fatehnagar where the act of making adulterated diesel had been continuing for sometime," said SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal.
A team led by circle inspector of Hiranmagri Chagan Purohit and SHO Ramesh Kaviya raided the gaushala which was run by one Ramesh. There were no cows in the shed, instead police found gallons of adulterated diesel, various kinds of powdered chemicals, one tanker and tractor tanker each apart from 42 drums filled with kerosene only available at ration shops.
"We have seized 30,000 litres of fake diesel which was made at the factory by mixing kerosene and chemicals. The accused gaushala owner is absconding who sold adulterated fuel in the market," Goyal said. However, the discovery of HPCL formulae book, bill books, vouchers and seals has puzzled the police which suspects involvement of some company staff in the fraud.
