JAIPUR: Doctors, who have excelled in their fields, were awarded by the Rajasthan Medical Council on the occasion of National Doctors’ Day here on Saturday
Some doctors make the day special for themselves by doing some more work as their social responsibility. Dr Pawan Singhal, professor (ENT), Sawai Man Singh Hospital adopted a girl for helping her financially in her education.
“On the occasion of National Doctors’ Day, my wife Dr Sunita and me have adopted a baby girl Thakkur from a family at Jhalana Kachchi Basti for financial help for her education. The family is not so good financially. She wants to become a doctor. We will provide her all facilities to become a doctor,” Dr Singhal said.
There are 12 different categories under which doctors were awarded in the function organised at Birla Auditorium, said Dr Jagdish Modi, registrar of Rajasthan Medical Council.
The doctors were awarded in presence of health minister Kalicharan Saraf.
Saraf said, in the eyes of the people, doctors are not less than demigods. He appealed to the doctors to continue performing well keeping the interest of patients in the priority. It is the responsibility of doctors to keep winning trust of the patients,” he said.
Saraf said, doctors are serving the patients with honesty in limited available resources. But, he emphasized that doctors should more focus on their profession as a service to mankind rather than focussing on earing huge money from the profession.
Saraf praised the doctors that in the state the doctors are serving people with determination. He pointed out that there is a specific role of doctors to make the state healthy and prosperous.
