JAIPUR: Performances by more than 200 artistes and craftsman enthralled audiences during the two-day Momasar festival, which concluded on Sunday. Folk artistes from various parts of the state gathered at Momosar village in Churu district to participate in the annual folk music and arts festival.
Audiences varying from non-resident Rajasthanis to the locals attended the festival to celebrate the unique blend of artistes and musicians.
Authentic folk sounds of dholak, khartal, bhapang, ravanahatha and kamaicha were heard in the nippy evenings. “Various artistes travelled from far-flung areas of
Rajasthan and from various countries to join the musical extravaganza. Non-resident Rajasthanis also come down to their native place to enjoy the festival. We had also invited college students to see the folk crafts of Rajasthan,” said Vinod Joshi, one of the organisers of the festival.
“It was one-of-a-kind musical collaboration in which our musicians, folk singers and dancers got a chance to perform with internationally acclaimed artistes,” he added.
Unique art like story-telling through Phad painting were showcased at the event. Not only that, forgotten crafts like peedha-making, kawad, fire painting took a lot of people back to their childhood and reminded of the true spirit of Rajasthan.
