Gold worth Rs 23 Lakh recovered from three Pakistani citizens at Munabao Station

Customs department at Munabao Railway Station on Saturday night recovered 700.167gm gold from three Pakistani citizens who had come by Thar Express. The market value of the recovered gold is Rs 23,27,119. Those detained were earlier too involved in gold smuggling incidents. Apart from this, 300 women’s kurtas and 200 dupattas were also recovered from another Pakistani citizen who was travelling to Pakistan by the train.

JAISALMER: Customs department at Munabao Railway Station on Saturday night recovered 700.167gm gold from three Pakistani citizens who had come by Thar Express. Assistant commissioner (customs) ML Shera said that the gold seized was in form of 10 tolas of five biscuits and a bangle of 81.6gm and three rings of 35.1gm.
These were recovered from Pakistani citizens Kishore Kumar Maheshwari, Ramesh and Kailash Mali.
Earlier on Saturday morning when luggage of passengers going to Pakistan was searched, Ramchandra, resident of Hyderabad had around 300 women’s kurtas and 200 dupattas worth Rs 1.50 lakh. The officials seized them provisions of Custom Act and Rs 52,500 was collected as penalty.
