Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is allocating Rs 1.5 crore to transform five ageing community halls into corporate business structures, indicating a notable change in how public community assets are being redirected towards commercial infrastructure.
After finalising the Detailed Project Report (DPR), the JDA has begun construction work on the first site in Sector I of Vidhyadhar Nagar.

Proposed blueprint of the community centre in Triveni Nagar
Speaking to
TOI, JDA officials said the proposal is to redevelop the old and dilapidated community centres into corporate business structures — to be named “VIBE centres.”
“There are plans to develop the community centre as a happening place. These centres have been lying in dilapidated conditions for years. So, it was decided to revamp and utilise these spaces. This could be a way of revenue generation for JDA,” stated a senior JDA official.
In addition to the community centre in Vidhyadhar Nagar, the JDA will undertake redevelopment of the community centres on Amrapali Marg in Vaishali Nagar, in Triveni Nagar, and in Block B and Block D of Malviya Nagar.
The deadline for completing the two Malviya Nagar community halls is June 30, 2027, while the Vidhyadhar Nagar community centre is scheduled to be redeveloped by July 15, 2027.
The remaining two community centres have a deadline of Dec 31, 2027.
A senior JDA official said the VIBE centre will be a three-storey structure. The ground level is planned to include an open parking area, a multipurpose hall for events and functions, two bedrooms, an open-air theatre and a cafe with a kitchen.
The first floor of the upgraded facility is expected to provide areas for restaurants, shops, and small businesses, while the second floor will include an e-library, conference rooms, and a co-working space. The third floor will accommodate fitness centres and sports facilities. “The parking facility and maintenance rooms will be in the basement,” another official added.
