Jaipur: The Chittorgarh unit of the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) has arrested a junior engineer, posted with Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in Pratapgarh, after catching him red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 1.3 lakh.
Acting director general of the ACB, Hemant Priyadarshi, said that a complaint was filed with the Chittorgarh unit that in exchange for approving the final bill of Rs 82 lakh for laboratory construction work at a school under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in Arnod block, junior engineer Ashutosh Suthar demanded a bribe of Rs 1.8 lakh from the complainant.
After verifying the complaint, a team led by additional superintendent of police, ACB, Kailash Sandu laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed taking the bribe in cash.
