NEET-UG re-exam sparks fresh student influx in Kota, coaching sector sees revival
Jaipur: With the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled for June 21 after the cancellation of the earlier exam held on May 3, Rajasthan’s coaching hub Kota is once again witnessing a fresh influx of medical aspirants from across the country, triggering renewed activity across the city’s vast coaching ecosystem.
Students who returned to their hometowns after the examination are now coming back to Kota, especially from nearby states like Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, to resume preparations. Hostel operators, coaching institutes and businesses linked to the student economy confirmed enquiries by these students have increased sharply over the past 2-3 days.
“New admissions have also kicked off, with fresh students making a beeline. But since the re-exam date was announced, students and parents have again started calling for room bookings. Kota is prepared and providing them all possible space for a month to ensure they study seamlessly,” said Naveen Mittal, president, Hostel Association, Kota.
NEET-UG remains one of the country’s largest competitive examinations, with more than 22 lakh students appearing for the medical entrance test this year, intensifying competition among aspirants.
Coaching institutes across Kota have now intensified preparations for the fresh examination cycle. Sources said that they are preparing revised schedules to ensure uninterrupted classes, revision programmes, mock tests, and doubt-solving sessions. Vinod Kumawat, president, ALLEN Career Institute, Kota, said the entire coaching ecosystem of Kota was standing with students during the re-examination phase. “Kota is fully prepared to welcome students from across the country and provide them the best possible academic environment and coaching support,” said Kukreja. He added that institutes were preparing specialised online classes, rapid practice modules, doubt-clearing sessions, and personalised mentoring programmes to help students utilise the limited preparation time effectively.
“Our faculties have been instructed to provide extended academic assistance as well as counselling support wherever required. Kota has always played a crucial role in guiding students during difficult situations. Our focus is not only on academics but also on ensuring students remain mentally motivated and confident,” said founder and CEO, Motion Education, Nitin Vijay.
