JAIPUR: CJM, Jaisalmer S S Lata convicted on day former SHO Devkishan Sharma, now Dy SP (Bilada), and awarded imprisonment for one month and a penalty of Rs 2,000. Sharma was booked under Section 217 of the IPC for not following court directives.
According to a report, one Shankar Lal Vyas lodged a complaint against the then municipal commissioner Ratan Vishnoi, surveyor Ashok Mattad, councillor Ashok Nath and others under Sections 420, 467, 471, 482 and 120 (in 2005).

The court directed the then SHO Devkishan Sharma to register a case in this regard but Sharma did not comply with the order.
Vyas again requested the court to take action against Sharma for not filing the FIR despite the court order. In response, Sharma replied that Vyas's complaint came under anti-corruption cell and it was not under his jurisdiction. But the court again directed him to file an FIR in the case. on this Sharma registered the FIR but intentionally removed the names of former MLA Sangsingh Bhati and divisional commissioner L R Vishnoi. After hearing both parties, CJM S S Lata held Sharma guilty of contempt of court and awarded one month imprisonment and a penalty of Rs 2,000.
