Jaipur: An outstanding all-round performance by Rajasthan propelled them to a clinical 53-run win over Haryana to enter the quarterfinals of the Col CK Nayudu U-23 Trophy on Sunday.
In their final league encounter, in-form Rajasthan ousted hosts Haryana with a day to spare at the Chaudhary Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium in Lahli to reach the knockouts for the second year in succession.
With this thumping win, Rajasthan notched up 11 points from this outing and took their overall points tally to 76 to finish second in Elite Group B. Mumbai are likely to top the Group B. Only the top two teams from each of the four Elite Groups qualify for the quarterfinals.
Resuming at their overnight score of 87 for 1 on Day 3, Rajasthan were all out for 196 in their second innings.
Chasing a modest target of 218, Haryana's batting collapsed once again and were skittled out for 164 in their second innings.
Rajasthan speedster Ganesh Suthar did the maximum damage with a four-wicket haul. Anirudh Chouhan bagged a couple, while Karan Lamba, Deependra Singh and Mohit Changra chipped in with a wicket each.
