Jaipur:
Rajasthan University wushu team performed brilliantly and won eight medals including five silver in the All India Inter-University Wushu (Men and Women) Championship, organised recently by the Kashmir University.
Bhanu Pratap Pareek (kiyanshu), Tanisha Mahavar (changquan), Mahima Choudhary (traditional non type), Gourang Saini (wing chun) and Vaidehi Pareek (flexible weapon) bagged a silver medal each, stated a press release issued by Dr Pratibha Singh Ratnu, secretary, Rajasthan University Sports Board here on Thursday.
Vaidehi Pareek claimed her second medal when she clinched bronze in the traditional non type. Piyush Mehra (taijiquan) and Pooja (sanda) won a bronze medal each to swell the tally.
Deoraj Singh, Neelam Choudhary accompanied the team as coaches, while Mahesh Sharma was the manager.
Vice Chancellor Prof Alpana Kateja, Kuldeep Dhankar, chairman, Univ sports board, Dr Pratibha Singh Ratnu, secretary, Rajasthan University Sports Board, SN Pareek and others congratulated the medal winners for their outstanding performance.
