Dr Meha said that to get all the people aged 45 years and above vaccinated in Bikaner, the administration has started a ‘vaccine on wheels’ drive. This is a first such drive in the country, she said.
Mobile vans of the health department will be parked at three main places in the city for two hours, where people showing their Aadhaar card, can get vaccinated. At present, the drive has been started in Bikaner and will gradually be started in other parts of the state.

The main objective of this campaign is that many elderly people who are sick or due to other circumstances are unable to come to the vaccination centres. The district administration has started this initiative to provide relief to such people. A meeting was called on Friday night to discuss both the initiatives and it was decided to implement them from Saturday.
On the other hand, Jaisalmer district collector Ashish Modi has started the campaign to vaccinate beggars and homeless people and those from poorer sections, labourers etc. Those who are leading their lives on footpaths and other places or who do not have their IDs, will be covered under this. As many as 15 such people were vaccinated at Hanuman Chowraha, Gadisar Chowraha and railway station.
Municipal council urban manager Lalit Lodha and police administration extended their support in vaccinating such people. Chetan Paliwal of Savera Swayansevi Sansthan too extended his support.
