Jaipur: Riding on a brilliant all-round performance by Sangita Kumawat (115 runs and 2 wickets), Rajasthan cruised past Uttarakhand by 27 runs in the Senior Women's One-Day Trophy Elite match at the Railway Ground in Vadodara on Saturday.
Rajasthan captain Sumitra Jat won the toss and opted to bat. After a poor start, Sangita (115: 104, 12x4, 1x6) anchored the innings well to help her team reach a strong total of 258 for 5 in the allotted 50 overs. Sangita and opener Chandrajyotsna Bhati (68: 108b, 11x4) added 112 for the third wicket.
Chasing a stiff target, Uttarakhand were rolled over for 231 in the final over. Rajasthan skipper and all-rounder Sumitra Jat grabbed three wickets, while player-of-the-match Sangita Kumawat returned with 2 for 15.
