Jammu: Four persons, including two NEET aspirants, died and six others were injured in two separate
road accidents in J&K’s Jammu and Kishtwar districts since Tuesday night, officials said Wednesday.
Late Tuesday, two motorcycle-borne students — Towheed Wani of Rajouri district and Mehrunnissa of Doda district, both in their early 20s — died after being run over by a truck on Sidhra bridge on Jammu city’s outskirts. “The students were staying in Jammu’s Bhatindi area and preparing for NEET examination,” said an official.
Wani, who was helming the two-wheeler, may have lost control of the bike after a person sitting inside a car parked on the bridge suddenly opened the door, said the official. Police arrested the truck driver, registered a case and initiated an investigation.
On Wednesday, two persons died while six others were injured when their SUV met with an accident in Chasti Padder area in Kishtwar district.
