The incident occurred in the early hours at Nekrakocha village under Rajnagar police station limits when a speeding overloaded pick-up van overturned after the driver lost control, police said.

They were travelling to Rajnagar for roof casting job. The deceased, who were in their 30s, include a woman,” Rajnagar police station in-charge Chandan Kumar said.
Another official said the injured were rushed to the Rajnagar block hospital, from where those serious were shifted to the government-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital (MGMMCH) in Jamshedpur in East Singbhum district. The death toll may increase as at least eight of the injured are critical.
