JAMSHEDPUR: Indian railways have announced the time and schedule for the commencement of the Vande Bharat train from Tatanagar to Varanasi. Chakradharpur railway division under the South Eastern Railway on Tuesday issued the details pertaining to the running of the train.
The railway has not yet announced the date of the inaugural run but sources in the Tatanagar railway said the inauguration is likely to take place during the Durga puja festivities. The train to Varanasi will start off at 6 am from Tatanagar and will reach its destination at 1.50 pm. On the return leg, the train will depart Varanasi at 2.35 pm and will reach Jamshedpur at 10 pm. It will have eight coaches and will run six days a week.
Running at an average speed of 73.3 kmph, the train will cover a distance of 574 km between the originating station and the destination station in close to 8 hours. The train will have stops at Purulia station, Bokaro Steel City station, Gaya junction, and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya station. Chotanagpur Passengers Association president, Arun Kumar Tiwari said two back-to-back Vande Bharat trains to Howrah and Varansi are well appreciating initiative of the railways. "We need to wait for sometime to know the ticket fares," he said.
