KANPUR: The most liked about and the much sought after competitions-- Junkyard Wars, Cruise Control and Wild Soccer-- kept the interest of participants alive till the end of the four-day technical fest.
Associated with fun and frolic, Junkyard Wars was a competition where the participants had to make a three-wheeler vehicle out of scratch. The assembled vehicles were later tested and allowed to participate in the racing competition.

A special zig-zag track that was made with the help of the vehicle tyres was actually hurdles that the participants had to avoid while racing on the track. A large number of students turned up to catch a glimpse of the competition and remained glued to the game till it ended. A team from IIT-Kanpur was adjudged the winner of the Junkyard competition.
In the Cruise Control Contest, a team from IT-BHU won the finals and were declared winners. The IIT-K team, which had flown its 60 CC aircraft, had also taken part in the competition and left the audience bemused. On the other hand, maximum crowd-puller was the Wild Soccer competition wherein a large crowd gathered to witness the robots fighting with each other in a bid to push the ball into the goal. The robots were governed by remote control and students took a keen interest in the competition and cheered the four 'teams' that were battling to get into the finals. The cheers, applause and hooting continued till the end of the event. The competition truly proved to be a show stopper.
In competitions Gearloose and Tremor, IIT-Kanpur got the first and the second spots respectively. In another competition, Endeavour, a team from Trident Academy of Technology Bhubaneswar emerged as the winner and a team from IIT-Kanpur bagged the third place. In the competition, the team from IIT-Delhi was adjudged the winner. In yet another interesting competition-- FIFA-2050-- teams from IIT-Kanpur bagged all the three places, ie first, second and third. Students of Anna University won the Robots Got Talent competition.
Meanwhile, students who were leaving the IIT-Kanpur campus looked quite interested in buying souvenirs. They picked up T-shirts with Techkriti slogan and bags that were available at affordable prices. Ankit Tandon, a Btech student of IIT-Kanpur, informed that Techkriti T-shirts sold like hot cake on the last day on Sunday. "Everybody wished to take with them something to remind them of our campus and T-shirts were one of those items that also carried the Techkriti slogan and logo," said Ankit.
