here on Tuesday. In a review meeting with food and civil supply department he said food grain was not lifted so far therefore no distribution would take place.
Lifting of food grains would be completed by July 20 and thereafter distribution of the same would be done to the APL, BPL and antyodaya ration card holders, he added.
He also asked the officials to review the wheat procurement and its storage. He said that the stored wheat in FCI godown should be fully secured and should be prevented from being soaked in rains. Old foodgrain must be kept insect free and any carelessness in the storage of grains would invite stern action against the erring officer, he added.
During the meeting, the officers apprised him that as many as 45 fair price shops in Etawah, 41 in Kanpur Dehat, 15 in Kanpur Nagar and 11 in Farrukhabad were associated with other shops. Deputy commissioner food informed him that new ration cards would be issued as per the instruction of state and vendors would be appointed at block level to feed data. A task force would also be constituted at tehsil level to inspect the fair price shops.
Additional commissioner Rajeev Sharma, deputy commissioner food, R MO deputy R MO and district supply officers of Kanpur division were present at the meeting.
