Kanpur: A farmer died on Wednesday night after his motorcycle fell into a water pipe channel near the Ghughua bridge in the Reuna police station area of Ghatampur.
The incident came to light in the morning when villagers spotted the body, and informed the police.
On reaching the spot, police identified the body, informed the family, and sent the body for post-mortem.
According to police, the deceased, Suresh (50), a resident of Amiratepur, was returning from his sister-in-laws’ house at night, when his bike went out of control near the Ghughua bridge on the Bandha road, and fell into the water channel.
Station in-charge, Anuj Rajput, said that the body has been sent for post-mortem. Further action will be taken on the basis of the report and written complaint.
