IIT-Kanpur student hurt after being attacked by seniors

A student of the Indian Institute of Technology ((IIT) Kanpur suffered injuries in his thumb after he was allegedly attacked with a knife by three of his seniors after an argument over jumping the 'Adarsh Line' (queue) of students at a music concert at the annual Antaragni event in the institute's premises on Sunday evening.

KANPUR: A student of the Indian Institute of Technology ((IIT) Kanpur suffered injuries in his thumb after he was allegedly attacked with a knife by three of his seniors after an argument over jumping the 'Adarsh Line' (queue) of students at a music concert at the annual Antaragni event in the institute's premises on Sunday evening.
Aman Meena has accused three students in the FIR lodged with the Kalyanpur police.

Meena said that he sustained a serious injury in his thumb during the attack.
ACP Kalyanpur Vikas Pandey said the FIR has been registered under section 324 of the IPC (causing injury) against three students namely Varun Dev, Adarsh, and Dinesh Ram. "We are scanning the CCTV footage to corroborate the charges. We have informed the IIT-K authorities and sought their cooperation in the probe," the ACP said.
