KDMA league: Avero Club drub Amar Club

Kanpur: Abhinav Sharma’s fine century (105 runs) helped Avero Club beat Amar Club by a big margin of 156 runs and booked a berth in the knock-out phase in KDMA league played here on Wednesday.
Avero Club, batting first at the HAL ground, posted a sound score of 8 for 276 in 40 overs. Abhinav Sharma, Atul Ranjan and Aviral Rahul contributed 54, 105 and 45 runs respectively.Mayank Sharma picked 3 wickets.
Amar Club in reply could not bear the pressure of a big score and collapsed on 120 runs. Atul Ranjan scored 49 runs and Tanay Kapoor and Sparsh Tiwari bagged 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
In another match, Ashoka Jyoti Club drubbed South Gymkhana by 2 wickets and moved into the knock-out phase. South Gymkhana, deciding to bat first, scored 9 for 173. In reply, Ashoka Jyoti hit 176 runs for the loss of 8 wickets and earned the gate pass of knockout phase.
In the third match of the day played at the Sapru ground, BCA outplayed Gandhi Gram Club by 8 wickets. Gandhi Gram, batting first, scored 158 runs and BCA Club hit the required 164 runs for the loss of two wickets in 25.5 overs.
