Man ends life alleging harassment by wife

Mahoba: The body of 28-year-old Santram was discovered hanging from a tree near Supa Tigaila in the Charkhari Kotwali area. Prior to his death, a video of Santram surfaced in which he made serious allegations of harassment against his wife and in-laws.In the video, Santram stated that he was harassed throughout the night and that his wife refused to accompany him. He demanded justice from the police and action against the culprits.Santram was married to Pawan from Kulpahar 11 years ago, and they have two daughters. The couple had frequent disputes. According to family members, after a recent argument, his wife left for her parental home with Rs 7 lakh in cash, gold and silver jewellery, and their daughters. Santram went to Kulpahar to bring her back, but the next morning, his body was found hanging from a tree.The deceased's brothers, Sheetaldin and Ramlakhan, alleged that the wife and her brothers harassed Santram and attempted to portray his murder as a suicide. They claimed that Santram earned well by driving a pickup vehicle, leading to the greed of his wife and in-laws.Upon receiving the information, police took the body into custody and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Police officials stated that further action will be taken based on the family's complaint and the post-mortem report.
