More students receive laptops

KANPUR: The laptop distribution programme continued in the city on Monday. Laptops were given to students at DAV PG College, Halim Muslim College, Gurunank Degree College and AND Girls College. Some of the students protested outside DAV College for not getting laptops. A few of them expressed anger over the mismanagement. They rued that the serial number mentioned on the laptops did not match with their names.Hence, they could not receive laptops.
According to information provided by the office of district inspector of schools, 1,202 students received laptops in AND College. In DAV College, 1,986 students, in Halim Muslim College, 1,059 students and in Gurunanak College, 558 students received laptops. The laptops were distributed to students by SP legislators Satish Nigam and Irfan Solanki. At DAV College, SP leader Ram Ashrey Kushwaha gave away laptops to the students. The students who remained absent during the function would receive laptops by showing their admit cards and the laptop slip.
The SP Leaders who distributed the computing machines to the students urged them to make use of these devices for educational purpose and wished for their bright future.
The leaders also used the stage for counting the achievements of the SP government and mentioned that the government is gradually keeping its promises made to the masses.
