Over 92K to appear for UP Board exams at 124 centres
Kanpur: As many as 92,444 examinees will appear in the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board (UP Board) examinations in Kanpur, scheduled from Feb 18 to March 21, said the the officials.According to the district inspector of schools, 46,430 students will appear for the high school examination and 46,014 in intermediate exams to be conducted at 124 exam centres in the district, comprising seven govt intermediate schools, 73 non-govt aided secondary schools and 44 unaided recognised secondary schools.
District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh said that nine zonal magistrates, 16 sector magistrates, 124 static magistrates, 124 centre administrators and 124 external centre administrators have been appointed to ensure smooth conduct of the exams.In a review meeting held on Wednesday at the HBTU auditorium, the DM directed that all necessary arrangements should be completed at all the examination centres before the stipulated date. Strong arrangements for safe storage of question papers, continuous CCTV monitoring, lighting, drinking water, toilets, adequate seating arrangements and strict adherence to safety standards should be ensured.It should be ensured that the exams are conducted in a completely transparent, clean and cheating-free manner, said the DM adding that negligence at any level would not be tolerated.Assistant Commissioner of Police (law & order), Commissionerate Kanpur Nagar, Ranjit Kumar, said there would be the provision of armed police force for the security of examination centres, safe transportation and protection of question papers and security of the mobile squad. Immediate action should be ensured on any unwanted activity, he said.Additional District Magistrate (Finance &Revenue) Vivek Chaturvedi directed the centre administrator, external centre administrator and static magistrate to work as a coordinated team. He reviewed the difficulties encountered in past years and emphasised their effective resolution. The ADM also issued instructions to continuously monitor the examination, keeping the online and offline control rooms fully active.DIOS Santosh Kumar Rai apprised the officers, principals and teachers present in the meeeting about the standards and provisions set by the govt. All zonal, sector and static magistrates, centre administrators, external centre administrators, online and offline control room in-charges, and mobile squad in-charges were present.
