Inside Bishnoi gang’s hit list: Sidhu Moosewala, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Rohit Shetty & more

Several Bollywood actors and filmmakers, including Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Rohit Shetty and Aayush Sharma, have reportedly received threat and extortion messages allegedly linked to the Bishnoi network. Security was tightened after firing incidents and online claims.

Actor Ranveer Singh’s name surfaced during investigations into extortion and threat messages targeting celebrities. Agencies examined possible links to gang operatives as part of a broader probe into intimidation attempts at public figures.

In April 2024, shots were fired outside Salman Khan’s Bandra home in Mumbai. A post purportedly by Anmol Bishnoi brother of Lawrence Bishnoi — claimed responsibility, calling it a warning.

Following threat inputs, security around filmmaker Rohit Shetty and actor Aayush Sharma was reviewed and strengthened as a precaution. Police probed possible gang links behind intimidation attempts aimed at industry names.

Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Mansa, Punjab, in May 2022. Investigators arrested Bishnoi gang members, naming Lawrence Bishnoi as the alleged mastermind behind the plot.

The murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was among high-profile crimes linked to the network, signalling its spread from celebrity targets to political figures.

Gunshots were fired outside Punjabi singer-actor Gippy Grewal’s residence in Canada, with Bishnoi-linked operatives allegedly behind the intimidation tactic.

Shots were fired outside AP Dhillon’s Vancouver home in 2024. Police said the act was meant to spread fear and push extortion demands rather than cause direct harm.

Even from jail, Bishnoi is alleged to run operations through aides like Goldy Brar, coordinating threats and attacks across borders using digital channels.
