Shab-e-Barat observed with devotion

KANPUR: Muslims offered special prayers and repent for their mistakes on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat on Sunday. The graveyards were decked up with colourful lights. The people went to the graves of their ancestors and offered prayers.
Hectic activity was noticed in the Old City areas right from the morning. Delicious 'halwa' and other delicacies were prepared on the occasion.The women members of the community remained at home and offered namaz and recited the verses of Quran.
Muslims pray to the Almighty and repent for their past mistakes. Bajariya locality, having more than half-a-dozen graveyards, was buzzing with activity throughout the night.
