ETAWAH: A 15-year-old Class 10 student committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in the Friends Colony area in UP, police said on Saturday
The incident occurred on Friday evening.
According to Station House Officer Amit Kumar Mishra said the girl was alone in the house at the time of the incident, as her mother and brother had gone out to the market.
Officers said early enquiries and statements from family members indicate that she had been under considerable emotional strain following the CBSE mathematics examination held on February 17. She was reportedly worried about her performance in the paper.
"When the family returned around 7 pm, they found her hanging. Upon receiving information, a pollice team reached the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem, the SHD said.
Police said that despite her family’s efforts to counsel and comfort her, she remained deeply upset.
