Kozhikode: A four-and-a-half-year-old girl who was undergoing treatment at Kozhikode medical college after being infected with Shigella died on Saturday morning.
She was in the hospital for about five days.
Following diarrhoea and vomiting, she sought treatment at primary health centre. As the illness did not improve, she was taken to the govt hospital for children and women in Kozhikode. Following Shigella symptoms, she was shifted to the medical college hospital. The body was cremated at the Westhill crematorium.
