C Mani gets 2nd term as CPM Ekm area secy

Kochi: Ernakulam area conference of CPM concluded on Sunday. C Mani, who was the area secretary, got the second term as secretary.A 21-member area committee was also elected in the conference. Former councillor Beena Mahesh and DYFI Ernakulam block president Manu Shankar have been included in the committee. State committee members S Sharma, Gopi Kottamurickal, district secretary C N Mohanan, district secretariat members John Fernandez and mayor M Anilkumar attended the conference on Sunday.The conference began at M M Lawrence Nagar at Panampilly Nagar on Friday. Various local committees under Ernakulam area committee conducted seminars and cultural programmes from Nov 3 to 15. Kadamakkudy hosted a seminar on local tourism development. A speech on ‘Kayal Samaram and Pandit Karuppan' was held in Cheranelloor. tnn
