Chelakkara bypoll: Ramya calls on NSS chief

Kottayam: UDF's candidate for Chelakkara bypoll, Ramya Haridas, called on NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair at the organization's headquarters at Perunna, in Changanassery in the district, and sought his blessings on Monday.
Later, she met reporters and said people will unite to fight against those who disrupted Thrissur Pooram. Regarding the DCC letter controversy, she refused to react, saying the party brass and the Palakkad candidate had replied to it. It is quite natural that more than one name comes up during candidate selection, she added.
Congress high command is the final word regarding candidatures and controversies are irrelevant now, she said.
