Sacred Heart College proud as three alumni enter Kerala cabinet
Kochi: Celebrations filled Sacred Heart College after the announcement of ministers for new govt in Thiruvananthapuram, with three former students securing prominent positions in the new cabinet led by chief minister V D Satheesan.Besides Satheesan, minister-designate Roji M John and UDF chief whip Apu John Joseph are also alumni of the college, making the occasion a proud moment for the institution and its students. John completed his graduation at the college between 1999 and 2002 and pursued postgraduation there from 2002 to 2004, while Joseph studied his pre-degree course at the institution. Recalling Satheesan's student days, college manager Varghese Puthussery said he was known as an intelligent orator and well-prepared speaker even then. "Students used to gather eagerly to hear his speeches in the meet-the-candidate sessions ahead of the elections. He always debated with political opponents respectfully and never engaged in physical confrontations," he said. In a statement, the college described the elevation of its alumni to key govt positions as a moment of immense pride. The institution added that its legacy extended beyond academics and focused on nurturing socially committed leaders who contribute meaningfully to public life and the progress of the state.
