KOCHI: Ernakulam Town South police arrested three persons for job fraud by promising jobs in governmental and non-governmental institutions across the state using fake documents. The prime accused Satheesh Chandran (66), a resident of Elamkulam, and middlemen Maimood (50) and Biju (48) were the arrested persons. They were arrested on a complaint by a Malappuram native duped of Rs 11 lakh by being offered a fake job with
Kochi Metro.
As per probe, police found around 50 job aspirants duped after paying lakhs of rupees for getting jobs. The accused received about Rs 2 crore through a bank account, said police. Chandran has similar cases in Kannur and Kottayam.
Man held for abuse: Ernakulam Town North police arrested Jishnu Chandran, of Walayar, Palakkad, for allegedly sexually abusing a woman on the pretext of a false promises of marriage. The accused met the complainant via social media, police said. He then invited her to hotel rooms in Aluva and Ernakulam North and sexually abused her after giving a false promise to marry her. tnn
