KOLHAPUR: Six police officers in Kolhapur district have been chosen for the state's award recognising meritorious service in the police force.
They were selected for the Police Medal for Meritorious Services award on the basis of their work during different periods over the last 25 years.
The officers selected are: deputy superintendent of police and Jaysingpur division in charge Ramesh Saravade; police inspector in charge of local crime branch Dinkar Mohite; police inspector in charge of Shirol police station Vasant Bagal; police inspector in charge of Shahupuri police station Arvind Choudhari; police inspector in charge of economic offences wing Sandip Bhagwat; and sub inspector Sushilukmar Vanjari.
Saravade has been awarded for his work in Chandrapur from the 2010 to 2014. Mohite was chosen for his work in Gadchiroli district from 1991 to 1994; he was in a team of commandos in that period.
Bagal was chosen for work in Kodgul of Chandrapur taluka from 1998 to 2000. Choudhari was chosen for his work in Chandrapur district from 2009 to 2011. Bhagwat was selected for his role in police operations in Gondiya district from 2013 to 2015. Vanjari was chosen for his work in Sironcha taluka of Gadchiroli district from 2012 to 2015.
