Sumit Kumar Yadav is Kolhapur’s new CGST commissioner

Kolhapur: Sumit Kumar Yadav, a 2006 batch Indian Revenue Service officer, assumed charge as commissioner of central goods and services tax (CGST), Kolhapur commissionerate.

He was earlier posted at Alwar in Rajasthan. D Venkateshwara Reddy, the earlier commissioner CGST, has been transferred to Bengaluru.

After assuming charge, Yadav said, “The objective is to emphasize on activities to enhance GST through trade facilitation, transparency and effective taxpayer services while ensuring better compliance management and timely disposal of GST-related pending matter. These things can be achieved through digital governance, prompt grievance redressal and coordinated efforts.”
