Abdul Mannan stable after heart surgery
Abdul Mannan.
KOLKATA: MLA and opposition leader Abdul Mannan underwent surgery to implant a temporary pacemaker at Apollo Gleneagles Hospital on Friday. His condition is stated to be stable. Mannan has a second-degree heart block and might have a permanent pacemaker inserted on Saturday.The 64-year-old had an episode of suffocation and chest discomfort at the state assembly on Thursday. He is being treated by cardiologist Suvro Banerjee. A medical bulletin issued by Apollo said Mannan was "conscious, alert, oriented and aware".
