Dakshineswar, Kamarhati get new police stns

Two new police stations in Dakshineswar and Kamarhati were inaugurated on Thursday. The state has taken a decision to set up eight new police stations in Barrackpore Commissionerate area taking the total count to 24.

Kolkata: Two new police stations in Dakshineswar and Kamarhati were inaugurated on Thursday. The state has taken a decision to set up eight new police stations in Barrackpore Commissionerate area taking the total count to 24. With the setting up of two new police stations at Dakshineswar and Kamarhati, this police commissionerate area now has 18 police stations.
Six more will come up at Nagerbazar, Halisahar, Shibdaspur, Mohanpur, Basudevpur and Jetia.

The new police stations were inaugurated by Barrackpore police commissioner Manoj Kr Verma in presence of Saugata Roy, MP, Tapas Roy, MLA and minister of state for planning and statistics, Madan Mitra, MLA, and Gopal Saha, Kamarhati municipality chairman.
