Kolkata: In a significant move towards overhauling administrative discipline, the state govt on Tuesday issued a stern directive regarding office timings for all its employees. The order mandates a strict adherence to a 10.15 am start for the workday.
According to the official communique, all personnel are "positively" required to be present at their desks by 10.15 am and are further prohibited from leaving the office premises before 5.15 pm. This order applies to all employees of the govt with immediate effect.
The directive cites the "smooth and efficient disposal of official work" as the primary reason behind the rule's enforcement.
