Will remove ‘dark portions’ from the syllabus: BJP MLAs after edu dept visit
Kolkata: A review of the school syllabus and a broa-der restructuring of Ben-gal's education system are under consideration, BJP MLAs Sankar Ghosh and Swapan Dasgupta said on Monday after a meeting with senior education department officials.Addressing the media after the meeting, Ghosh said the new govt is examining the existing framework and is expected to introduce changes soon. "All our MLAs have submitted feedback to the CM, who will take the final decision. However, I can say that whatever is unjustified or dark in the syllabus will be removed soon," he said.According to sources, the discussions also focused on the possible implementation of PM-SHRI in Bengal, along with issues related to college admissions and restructuring of school committees.After the meeting, Ghosh said, "We all want to bring back the past glory of education in our state, and for that we are seeking support from everyone so that we can make the best possible reforms."Dasgupta said, "There is deep concern regarding the education system in Bengal, and this department has the most important role to play."
