Cops rescue youth from tracks in Vadakara

Kozhikode: Police rescued a youth who allegedly attempted to die by suicide by standing in front of the Vande Bharat Express train near Vadakara on Friday. The youth was saved just minutes before the train passed through the area. The incident took place around 8am after the Vadakara Police control room received a phone message reporting a man seen behaving suspiciously on the tracks near Vadakara railway station. Acting swiftly, police traced his mobile location, spoke to him over the phone and rushed to the spot. The youth was found about 350m from the railway station toward Payyoli. The police quickly moved him away from the track. Moments later, the Thiruvananthapuram-bound Vande Bharat Express passed through. Police later provided counselling at Vadakara Police station.
