Couple killed in accident in Malappuram

Kozhikode: A young couple was killed in a road accident when a car rammed into their motorcycle in which they were travelling at Ananthavoor Iqbal Nagar in Malappuram on the Puthanathani–Thirunavaya road around on Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as Valiya Peediyekkal Muhammad Sidheeq (28), a resident of Iqbal Nagar, and his wife Reesha Mansoor (25). The accident occurred while the couple was on their way to work. A car coming from the opposite direction reportedly collided head-on with their bike. While Sidheeq died on the spot, Reesha succumbed to her injuries at a private hospital in Puthanathani. The couple got married only in Jan this year. Sidheeq was a teacher at Pang govt higher secondary school near Malappuram. He is survived by his father Ahammadkutty, mother Muneera Banu and sister Sithara. Reesha worked as a pharmacist at Peruvallur govt homoeopathic dispensary. She is the daughter of Mattil Mansoor and Hafsath Chempakath Kalpakanchery Police conducted the inquest. After the postmortem examination at Manjeri govt medical college hospital, the bodies were laid to rest in the evening.
