Detailed introspection under way at all levels, says CPM’s P K Sreemathy

Kozhikode: Senior CPM functionary P K Sreemathy said that the party has suffered a ‘shameful' defeat in the assembly elections and that a detailed introspection was under way at all levels of the organization. "We have understood in a self-critical manner that we have suffered an extremely shameful and humiliating defeat. A deep and careful examination of the setback is being carried out at all levels of the party," she said. Sreemathy said there was no point in blaming any individual for the defeat, as the party had faced the elections collectively and in a united manner. She added that the party would undertake corrective measures after identifying the reasons behind the setback. Meanwhile, Sreemathy welcomed the UDF govt's decision to increase the honorarium of ASHAs.
