ED sends notice during every election: M V Govindan

Kozhikode: After ED sent a show cause notice to CM Pinarayi Vijayan over the masala bond issued by Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), CPM state secretary M V Govindan said ED issues notices during every election. He said the move is political and part of BJP's attempt to undermine Kerala. He said the action is not just a challenge to the CM or former finance minister Thomas Isaac but to Kerala as a whole.He said ED had issued similar notices during previous panchayat, assembly and parliamentary elections. He added that KIIFB led development projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore and helped raise Kerala's infrastructure to global standards but attempts to tarnish KIIFB had started long ago. Isaac had asked ED both personally and in court to explain the grounds for the notices but ED has not replied, said Govindan.LDF convener T P Ramakrishnan also said ED is continuously targeting the state govt and his party will counter it politically and legally.
