KANNUR: Assistant sub-inspector of the Armed Reserve Police (ARP), Sanadhanan K, who went missing from a hotel in Naraingarh, Haryana on June 29 and located at Chandigarh railway station on July 6, was presented in the judicial first class magistrate court here on Thursday.
A missing complaint was registered at the Town Police Station.
According to police who took the statement of the ASI, there were contradictions in whatever he said and hence what led to his absence was not clear.
"He seems to have lost his memory apparently after he was attacked by some strangers in Chandigarh," said a civil police officer. "The only thing he says is that he stepped out of the lodge room for toilet but has no idea as to what happened later."
However, he lost his belongings and was beaten up, said police, adding that probably his memory has been affected in that attack.
Sanadhanan reached the Sai Baba Temple in Chandigarh where he stayed for a couple of days. Then he reached the railway station, from where the Kerala Samajam office bearers took him to Kannur. Following this Sanadhanan was brought back and produced in the court.
The ASI was in Chandigarh along with two of his colleagues to produce an under-trial drug peddler Naresh Kumar Garg before Naraingarh court from Kannur Central Prison. Garg was undergoing punishment in a drug peddling case.
Police said Sanadhanan will be questioned again after getting medical advice. However, he has not been taken back to duty as he is yet to give a convincing reply about overstaying his leave.
