Retired school principal arrested for sexual assault bid on minor

Kozhikode: A retired higher secondary school principal was arrested in Kannur for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a 17-year-old girl. The accused K C Shaju, 59, who is also a career counsellor and motivational speaker, has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. According to Muzhakkunnu police, the incident took place about four months ago when the student visited his residence for counselling. A case was registered following a complaint, and subsequent investigation led to his arrest. After his retirement, Shaju had been working as state-level faculty member for career guidance and adolescent counselling under the higher secondary education department.
