Toll collection on Vengalam-Ramanattukara stretch of NH-66 to begin on Thursday

Kozhikode: The toll collection on the Vengalam- Ramanattukara stretch of NH-66 will begin from 8am on Thursday. The Union road transport and highways ministry had notified the toll rates on Jan 7. With the publication of the notification in the media, procedures for commencing toll collection at the Olavanna toll plaza have been completed. A trial run conducted at the toll plaza recently was also successful. Distribution of the monthly pass for private car owners residing within a 20-km radius of the toll plaza will begin on Tuesday. The monthly pass can be obtained at a cost of Rs 340 by visiting the toll plaza with the vehicle's registration certificate and Aadhaar card. Holders of this pass can cross the Olavanna toll plaza any number of times within a month. FASTag will be given priority for toll collection. Those paying via UPI will have to pay an additional 0.25%, while those paying in cash will be charged double the toll rate.
