Kannur: CPM Kannur district secretary K K Ragesh on Friday said that details regarding slain party worker C V Dhanraj's martyr fund will be presented before the public and party workers and not before the media.
Addressing a news conference in Kannur, Ragesh alleged that the media do not represent the entire public, that is why the party does not want to share the details with them. "The fund was collected from party members and cooperative employees, not from the public. Details of the fund would be made at meeting attended by party members and party supporters," said Ragesh.
Ragesh's clarification came after CPM state secretary M V Govindan on Monday said the party would disclose the details before the public in the backdrop of expelled party leader V Kunhikrishnan's accusations of misappropriation of funds.
Ragesh rejected Kunhikrishnan's claim that CPM suffered a loss of Rs 92 lakh from the party fund and martyr fund, terming it as "pure imagination". "Party has not lost even a single rupee," he said.
Ragesh further said that Kunhikrishnan's book ‘Nethruthwathe Anigal Thiruthanam' (Followers Should Correct the Leadership) mainly reflects his personal enmity towards MLA T I Madhusoodanan.
