9 cyber cafes caught flouting norms

LUCKNOW: All the cyber cafes checked by the crime branch of Lucknow police on Sunday were found flouting the guidelines, including maintaining proper register and checking identity of the consumers using the net.
The raid by the crime branch team was conducted in three police station areas of the city. As a warning SP (crime) G P Chaturvedi has summoned all the cyber cafe owners to bring all the documents and register, if they want that action against them should not be taken.
A total of three teams were constituted by SP (crime) to conduct raids on these cyber cafes to check browsing of porn sites etc. The three teams visited six cyber cafes in Hasanganj police station area, two in Kaiserbagh police station area and one in Cantonment police station area, said Chaturvedi.
He said that since all the cyber cafes were found flouting norms, directives have been given to the owners of these cafes to be present at the crime branch office in Hazratganj on November 22 with all the relevant records as per the provisions to run the cafes.
Similar drives would be carried out in the near future also, Chaturvedi added.
