BBAU pushes skill courses, net-zero campus goal
Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) on Thursday outlined its admission plans for the 2026-27 academic session and highlighted ongoing infrastructure expansion and academic initiatives aimed at strengthening its position as a centre of excellence.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar Mittal said that efforts are being made to expand skill-based and value-added courses to equip students with competencies required in a rapidly changing world.
VC said BBAU is working towards becoming a net-zero carbon campus through initiatives such as biodiversity conservation, scientific recycling of paper and e-waste, and commercial promotion of the herbal garden.
He added that entrepreneurship and startup culture is being encouraged through the university’s Navkalpana Section 8 Company.
He also highlighted infrastructure expansion, including a modern computer lab with around 200 systems, strengthening of hostel facilities, promotion of co-curricular and extracurricular activities through hobby clubs, and development of student-centric amenities.
