LUCKNOW: In a virtual re-enactment of actor Aamir Khan's "Atithi Devo Bhava" advertisement on TV channels, local traders nabbed an eve-teaser and thrashed him outside the
Taj Mahal compound in Agra on Friday afternoon. The mob action came after two girls - tourists from Australia - raised an alarm accusing the youth of trying to molest them.
The incident took place near the West end parking outside Taj.
The tourists, Thimy and Tina Thypran, were walking towards the Taj Mahal compound when a youth approached them and enquired about the time. Even before the girls could answer, the youth allegedly tried to grab the hand of one of them.
The girls reacted strongly. As they tried to grab the youth by his collar, they also raised an alarm. The shopkeepers in the area were quick to respond. They first nabbed the youth and when the two tourists narrated the sequence of events, they thrashed the eve-teaser.
On getting information, cops from the tourist police station reached the spot and arrested the accused. The eve-teaser was identified as Akash Sharma, a resident of Basai Khurd in Tajganj police circle.
Deputy inspector general Agra told TOI that a case of molestation was lodged against Akash who was subsequently sent to jail.
