Exhibition brings India’s culture alive

A painting exhibition made by 30 artists depicting their interpretation of Ramayana and Indian philosophy began at Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre on Tuesday. The 4-day painting exhibition is being organised by Kalaratnam Foundation of Art Society.

Lucknow: A painting exhibition made by 30 artists depicting their interpretation of Ramayana and Indian philosophy began at Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre on Tuesday.
The 4-day painting exhibition is being organised by Kalaratnam Foundation of Art Society. The exhibition will remain open till November 18 from 11am to 7pm daily. Painted on paper, fabric and canvas through different mediums of acrylic, stone colours, earth and water colours, about 54 artworks are a part of the exhibition.

The artists have used various techniques including Gond, Madhubani, Tanjore, Mysore, Pattachitra, Pichwai, Kalamkari and contemporary. Exhibition curator Kuldeep Verma said that the paintings depict vivid culture of the country. Among all the paintings, one artwork each of acclaimed artists Mohammad Shakil and Harimohan Singh are a part of the exhibition as invited entries.
