Health teams to screen kids, elderly for flu-like symptoms

Lucknow: The state health department has issued instructions for house-to-house visit by health teams to screen elderly and children below 14 years of age with influenza-like symptoms.
The order issued by additional chief secretary, health and family welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad, has directed the teams to undertake the exercise from Thursday.
The teams will also look for and list those people whose vaccine dose is due.Children whose routine immunisation is pending will also be identified and referred for vaccination.
“The teams must update the activities taken up by them on integrated disease surveillance programme’s website on a daily basis,” the ACS said.
